On a grey winter morning in the Luberon Valley, we escaped the socked-in fog by climbing into the Forest of Cedars above Bonnieux, where brilliant blue skies and sweeping views waited just beyond the cloud line. Wandering with my wife and our black Labrador, Hamish, we explored quiet trails marked by the unmistakable signs of wild boar still thriving in the winter forest. Armed with the Leica Q2 Monochrom, I captured the stark beauty of Provence from altitude—cloud seas, cedar silhouettes, distant Alpine peaks, and the textured drama of winter light. This is Provence in its off-season: peaceful, wild, and wonderfully photogenic for anyone willing to climb a little higher.
