On a grey winter morning in the Luberon Valley, we escaped the socked-in fog by climbing into the Forest of Cedars above Bonnieux, where brilliant blue skies and sweeping views waited just beyond the cloud line. Wandering with my wife and our black Labrador, Hamish, we explored quiet trails marked by the unmistakable signs of wild boar still thriving in the winter forest.
